Running Diaries / Nike Free 5.0 Flyknit

When I heard that these beauties were only €49,- at the Nike outlet store, I didn't know how fast I could get there. It was two o'clock in the afternoon on a Sunday, so I wasn't the only one in the store. I quickly grabbed some sizes that seemed right and tried them on. The size 6.5 fitted perfectly but was only left in this colour and not in black and white. These colours may be a little harder to style, but they were just to awesome to leave behind =) I have yet to take them out for a run, but I can't wait! I'll let you know all about them after a few runs.

Food & Drinks / High Tea at Home

One of my friends celebrated her birthday and had al this deliciousness ready for us to eat. There were mini apple pie's, macarons, a cheesecake, scones, wraps, carrot cake, chocolate cake and little chocolates. It was all really tasty, but if I had to choose favourites it would be the scones and the cheescake! Needless to say we were really full when we left =)

Life / Stay positive

Like I said in my post about my dreams, I've been reading a few books about positivity and the like (and there are still a few on my to read list). I love how they give you a bit of insight on how to stay positive and not sweat the small stuff so much. When life is not actually going the way you want it to go, it's easy to become negative about it all. You didn't get a good grade, you didn't get that job you wanted, it's always raining when you have to go outside etc. From the big things that matter to the small things that kind of matter. But it's way more fun to be positive about it all. Here are some tiny tips and tricks on how I stay positive.
  • Throw the negative thoughts away. It's maybe easier said than done, but after a while it becomes easier. The moment a negative thoughts enters your mind, stop thinking about it and think of something that makes you happy instead.
  • Think happy thoughts. Start your day thinking about things that make you happen, instead of being annoyed that you had to get up so early. You shall see that the rest of your day will be better as well.
  • Listen to music that makes you happy. Everyone has a few songs that give them an instant happy feeling. Definitely the way to keep those negative thoughts away and those happy ones close by.

Lifestyle / New iPod Shuffle

The sound on my iPod nano was acting a bit weird, so when my father asked if I wanted a new iPod for my birthday I immediately said yes! They got me a iPod shuffle, which is perfect for running. It's so small, it feels like it weights nothing at all and it's got a clip so you can attach it to your jacket, shirt or wherever you want. I asked for the blue colour because it looks so happy. I took it with my when I went running and I loved it. You don't even feel like you have something with you. So an absolute must have for me when I'm running.

Running Diaries / Back on the Road

I started running again! I've started out slowly, not wanting my foot injury to come back. Luckily everything feels fine again. Now that the soccer season is almost coming to an and, I want to start running three times a week again. I love that now I can keep running during the summer where as I normally wouldn't do anything until the soccer season started again in September (which sounds so far away). I did buy this hot pink running t-shirt, because all the running clothes I own are made for winter and cold weather. And it's not winter anymore. Running in something with short sleeves feels so much better now that it's getting warmer. Do you prefer running in the winter or summer?

Home / Hema Scent Sticks

I got these scent sticks for my birthday. I love the look of the bottle, so cute and small. I really like the design on the front of the bottle, with the scent written in it. This one smells of jasmine, freesia and pear. Very sweet, girly and young. The smell is strong in my small room, but would be very subtle in a bigger room. I would love to get my hands on the other smells as well.

Travel / Five times Madrid

Churros at Chocolaterie San Gines
My love for churros is huge! I don't run into them quite often, but when I do I'm de happiest person on the planet (in the Times Square subway station in New York or in Universal Studios in Orlando). In Madrid churros are far more easier to find and apparently the best place to eat them is Chocolaterie San Gines. Let me tell you, they tasted really good!

Hotel Liabeny
We stayed at Hotel Liabeny while we were in Madrid. It's a four star hotel, but for a good price. The hotel is located next to a quiet square, but in the middle of the city. So all the shops, touristy things and subway are close by.

Mercado de San Miguel
My number one favorite place in Madrid is Mercado de San Miguel. It's a huge market where you can buy and eat food. Go when all the locals are going, it's crazy busy but so worth the experience.

Pretty buildings
Madrid has so many amazingly beautiful buildings it's insane. Don't take a car, don't take the bus, don't take the subway, just walk. You're going to keep snapping pictures, I promise.

ZARA
I'm not really a big fan of visiting stores that we have in The Netherlands as well, but I made an exception. ZARA is off course a Spanish brand, so the collection that they have in Madrid is huge. And again the building was beautiful, not only on the outside but also on the inside. Can I live there? =)

Photography / Faces I

*with project Faces comes no explanation about the picture, to keep it just about the picture

One of my photography goals for this year was and still is shooting more portrait pictures. I decided to call my little project: Faces. Because that's what portraits are all about, peoples faces =) It probably start out with a lot of people that I know and hopefully will progress to a lot of strangers as well.

Beauty / Foundation, hair mask and pores

I just ran out of my MUFE foundation. I liked it, but I would have liked a bit more coverage. My skin is really red and when a foundation doesn't have a high coverage, the red shows through and it looks like foundation is the wrong colour. So I went back to my old trusty Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. I love the texture, the colour (51) is perfect for my skin and it has a high coverage.
My hair is really thin and gets greasy easily. So for a while now I wanted to use a hair mask, to see if that helps. When I saw that the Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Omega repair intensive mask was on sale, I decided to buy it.
Last but not least I bought two packs of pore strips. I've had these before and they didn't really work for me, but because they were only €0,99 I decided to give them another try.

Travel / Five times Paris

The Louvre
It's huge! There's so much to look at. You don't have to look at everything, just pick a section you're interested in. The building itself is beautiful. There is no reason not to go here. And when you're European and under 26 it's free!

Boulangerie / Patisserie
French bakeries are the best! You need to get your butt there as soon as you're in Paris!

Eiffel Tower
Really touristy, but definitely something you can't miss while in Paris. The Eiffel Tower is beautiful to take pictures of (or with, selfie!). If you go up you have a beautiful view!

Lovelock bridge
Not a place you HAVE to go, but I just love how this bridge looks. It's full with all the locks that people put there, to seal their love. I think that's a lovely idea and all the locks are very photogenic =)

Place du Tertre
I can imagine this place in the early days. A square where all the artist gathered. A place with not as much tourist as there are now. But even with all the tourists there, it's a beautiful place to visit, to look around and get some food.

Le Palais Royal Jardin
After a long day of walking this is the perfect place to relax for a bit. It's really quiet, surrounded by the high walls. There is a fountain, where you can sit and put your feet in the water.

Home / Decorating with posters

Don't know what to put on your empty walls? Why not decorate them with some awesome posters. I had these frames lying around (they're not to expensive to buy either) and I printed out these cool wanted posters from the tv-series Prison Break. I got them enlarged to fit the frame and tadaa! I love the fact that all three posters are the same. Off course you can choose to get three different ones, or only two frames. Your options are endless, just choose something you like =)
